Centovalli
Mit dem Fahrrad kann man scheinbar endlos auf der Gebirgsstraße bergauf fahren und hat grandiose Ausblicke auf das schöne Tal und den Fluss Melezza. Eine Schmalspurbahn begleitet die Straße, sodass man im Prinzip jederzeit auch mit dem Zug den Rückweg antreten könnte.
Das Centovalli beginnt am Eingang des Maggiatals nahe Locarno und führt bis ins Piemont über die Grenze zwischen der Schweiz und Italien. Palagnedra mit seinem Stausee ist eigentlich ein gutes Ziel und ein guter Umkehrpunkt. In das Dorf gelangt man über Serpentinen. Hat man mehr Zeit, kann man weiter bis ins Piemont fahren; man kommt dann unter amderem durch Re mit seiner imposanten Wallfahrtskirche.
Hinweis: Etwa bei Kilometer 13 zeigt das Höhenprofil hier bei Plotaroute eine tiefe Schlucht mit anschließendem Wiederanstieg - das existiert so in der Realität nicht und ist ein Fehler im Höhenprofil.
