I'm sorry to hear you feel that way about our website Mo. Maybe try other ones to see if you get on better with them. If you want to continue with plotaroute, our Quick Start Tutorial video shows how to save a route (around 4:45 into the video).

Spoiler alert: (GOOGLE, 12PM CST, Wednesday Aug 9, 207)

"Sheila Carter is a fictional character from the American CBS soap operas The Young and the Restless and The Bold and the Beautiful."

So, Sheila, is that your nom de plum? er, plume, sorry.

oh, ok. well the only thing I can suggest is that you try the experiment yourself, i.e. visit

as a non-member, create a (tiny) route & try to save it without registering, then register and try to save it.

I'm sure it's a reproducible issue. do the flowchart thing (I hate that term), documenting your steps.

    Hmmm. Wait.

actually would be better to have someone unfamiliar with the site do it, that's the

    circumstances Sheila and I had.

    post the results. :-)

if all message go you you, then you've got 'em, if your system keeps 'em.

I know I sent 'em. Per my password vault 'twas created 11 JUL 2017.

All the messages from the contact us page come to me Terry - plotaroute is only a tiny set up.

    I didn't mean you in particular, the messages would have come from the CONTACTUS page;

possibly they're still on your system.

I haven't received any messages from you Terry but if you are still having problems saving routes I'm happy to try to help.

Just to clear up for anyone new...there is no need to create an account if you only want to plot a route, although you will obviolusly need an account if you want to save routes so that you can sign in and access them again.  There is no charge to create an account though and the service is free to use as it is funded by advertising (we offer an ad-free option for a nominal annual charge if you want to use the service without adverts).

hey, admin, please look up the messages I sent re this issue. uhh.. you DO keep messages, don'tcha?..

and post them here, that might help.

an idea might be to clearly state that you cannot PLOT or SAVE routes unlesss you are registered.

the PLOT option is essentially a tease, and we all love those. but it irritated me, and Sheila,

and no doubt others who may have just given up after arduously doing a PLOT and then being

smacked on the bum when trying to SAVE it. tha's no' cricket, eh?!

Sorry, I missed this thread when it was started.  Happy to help if I can.  Can you let me have more details about what happens when you click SAVE?  Using an Ad-Blocker could certainly make certain features on the site not work, so I would recommend turning this off if you haven't already.

Thanks, I'll try your suggestions.  I also was checking www.mappedometer.com.  Was able to save the map there.  Was hoping to be able to print out map, but so far can only print small sections.

hey, sheila, hi.  I can't quite remember how I fixed it...but I think part of the problem was that

I (and gazillions of others) are running AdBlock. Disable that for this site and let me know if that helps.

The OTHER thing was (scratching head, wrinkling brow)....it's NOT clear that you have to click

the (ahem) MORE link to get to whatever route(s) you've saved....

AND... the PLOT, FIND, and MORE links respond to Mouseovers but are momentary then.

To actually use them ya gotta CLICK on the link, then they're stable.

BUT THEY DON'T DISAPPEAR until you hmmm click the link aGAIN.

OH, and reducing the magnification helps keep the popups from getting lost under the

    ad bar on the righthandside.

[these guys need to write a how-to manual....]

Not very well done, but better than another site I checked out, it was Horrid.

    G'luck, have a great weekend.

So try it again, you should be able to save your route(s) OK the (haha) second time 'round.

I think your sign-in verification (click on SAVE, sign in) is not working. oops.

I registered but was unable to save my route...which means I (or anyone would) have

to do that all over again...

    bummer.
