Our Calorie Calculator estimates how many Calories you will burn using Metabolic Equivalent (MET) values from Compendium of Physical Activities. The Compendium idenitifes the relative energy cost of undertaking various activities compared with doing nothing. We then combine this with your weight and the estimated duration of the activity, taking into account the length of the route and the hills involved, to estimate the total Calories burned.
When selecting an Activity setting, select the speed you would normally travel at on flat ground.
Please remember, the estimated number of Calories is just a guide and the actual number of Calories burned may vary depending on other factors such as weather and terrain.

Outbound: turn left from Andersons Road into Basepoint through the subway and up the ramp onto the bridge. Exit the Bridge on the left through the gap to Garton Road in front of the station turn left, drop down and turn left onto Bridge Road.
Inbound: enter the bridge by turning right into Portsmouth Road from Victoria Road, then left into Coopers Lane where the buses enter it. Exit the bridge by turning left into Saltmarsh Road and immediately left into the cycle link, Left through both subways back to Basepoint and Andersons Road.
Netley, use the shared use when on Hound Way and Hamble Lane, before the right turn into Mallards Road. There are motorcycle traps on the path at the end of The Acorns which involve dismounting and would pose more difficulty for trailers or tandems.
