Our Calorie Calculator estimates how many Calories you will burn using Metabolic Equivalent (MET) values from Compendium of Physical Activities. The Compendium idenitifes the relative energy cost of undertaking various activities compared with doing nothing. We then combine this with your weight and the estimated duration of the activity, taking into account the length of the route and the hills involved, to estimate the total Calories burned.
When selecting an Activity setting, select the speed you would normally travel at on flat ground.
Please remember, the estimated number of Calories is just a guide and the actual number of Calories burned may vary depending on other factors such as weather and terrain.

The Gretton Charity Sportive is a great family day out, with the option of a 30 mile (1800ft of climbing) or 64 mile route (4100ft of climbing). Both routes have a staggered start with the long course startimg from 9 - 9:30am and the shorter route from 9:30 - 10am. Both rides follow the same route to Glapthorn near Oundle before heading back towards Gretton. At Lydington the long route then heads west and allows you spectacular views of the Eyebrook reservoir. The route then winds its way through the beautiful Welland Valley, with the big test coming at approximately 50 miles. After climbing the hill upto Neville Holt you are rewarded with some spectacular views across the Welland Valley.
The first feed station for both routes is at approximately 22 miles and the second at roughly 50 miles. Showers are available at the sports club and the licensed bar will open at 11am.
