Can be wet, and after rain or in the wet winter, will be very muddy and wet. Good boots advised in winter.

Good mixture of forest, heathland and a walk along the disused railway. More pleasant in the dry summer months unless you are adventurous.

Start at Holmsley Walk car park, BH23 7EQ

Set off towards Holmsley Camp Site - past the entrance - across the grass at the end of the road and into the enclosure.

After the 2 mile mark, take a right and a left to walk on the disused railway - dryer if wet, although can still have large puddles after recent rain.

If wet, consider a wide berth of Whitten Pond as this can be boggy.

Yes, you've guessed it - I walked it in March after heavy rainfall!

    CALCULATE CALORIES

    About the Calorie Calculator

Our Calorie Calculator estimates how many Calories you will burn using Metabolic Equivalent (MET) values from Compendium of Physical Activities. The Compendium idenitifes the relative energy cost of undertaking various activities compared with doing nothing. We then combine this with your weight and the estimated duration of the activity, taking into account the length of the route and the hills involved, to estimate the total Calories burned.

When selecting an Activity setting, select the speed you would normally travel at on flat ground.

Please remember, the estimated number of Calories is just a guide and the actual number of Calories burned may vary depending on other factors such as weather and terrain.
