Scenic back roads from Eltham up to King Lake West. 13kms of dirt on Deep Creek and Ridge Roads. Pay-off is great views of the mountains. At Strath Creek, turn either left to Broadford (and fuel) or right along King Parrot Creek Road to Trawool. Cross the Gouldburn River and take a detour off the main route to ride amongst stunning rocky granite outcrops along Greenslopes Road, a private dead-end dirt road. Please take it slow, don't scare the sheep and watch out for kangaroos. For a leisurely two-day ride, spend the night at the Tallarook Hotel. Landscape Road behind the town is very scenic if you have time but is sandy gravel. Stop at Murchisons Gap Lookout but ride a couple of kilometres beyond this up Murchison Spur Road to see more fabulous views of "the valley of a thousand hills". Stop at the iconic Flowerdale Pub for a refresher, a mecca for motorcyclists. At Glenburn, turn left for fuel if you need it. Great curves as you climb up to Kinglake and down to St Andrews. By the way, I'm riding an old Vespa from the 1960s.

    CALCULATE CALORIES

    About the Calorie Calculator

Our Calorie Calculator estimates how many Calories you will burn using Metabolic Equivalent (MET) values from Compendium of Physical Activities. The Compendium idenitifes the relative energy cost of undertaking various activities compared with doing nothing. We then combine this with your weight and the estimated duration of the activity, taking into account the length of the route and the hills involved, to estimate the total Calories burned.

When selecting an Activity setting, select the speed you would normally travel at on flat ground.

Please remember, the estimated number of Calories is just a guide and the actual number of Calories burned may vary depending on other factors such as weather and terrain.
