Milseburgradweg
Der Weg verläuft für einen Bahntrassenradweg relativ steil und andauernd bergauf. Die Steigung ist für jeden zu bewältigen - für Ungeübte jedoch nach zehn Kilometern langsam anstrengend.
Dafür gibt es aber etwa im Kilometerabstand Rastmöglichkeiten.
Der Weg führt zunächst durch die Felder und Dörfer, dann auch durch Wald. Höhepunkt in doppeltem Sinne ist die Durchfahrt durch den über 1km langen Tunnel, der den Berg "Milseburg" unterquert.
Im Höhenprofil ist daher zwischen Kilometer 16,7 und Kilometer 17,9 eigentlich nicht wie abgebildet der steile Anstieg zu befahren, sondern die Kuppe wird mit stetiger Steigung ebenso steil wie der restliche Radweg gemächlich unterquert.
Lediglich im Winter ist der Tunnel gesperrt, weil dort Fledermäuse leben. Dann muss die Milseburg überquert werden...
Am Ende des Tunnels gibt es eine bewirtete Rastmöglichkeit. Gleichzeitig ist es der höchste Punkt des Radweges und daher ein idealer Punkt zur Umkehr.
Der Milseburgradweg würde jedoch noch weiter in die Rhön bis nach Hilders verlaufen...
Der Milseburgradweg ist Teil des "Bahnradweges Hessen"- So ist vom Ende am Stadtrand von Fulda eine Verbindungsstrecke zum Vulkanradweg ausgeschildert. Folgt man dem R3/BahnRadweg Hessen, so kommt man zum Bahnhof von Fulda - somit eine gut ausgeschilderte Anreisemöglichkeit.
