    This mainly off-road walking route, will take you from Farnham Railway Station to the Puttenham Barn Bunkhouse. It follows the first 7 miles of the 153 mile long North Downs Way. The start of the North Downs Way is just 200 yards from Farnham Station and, once at the start, you will find the route comprehensively way marked with yellow or red route arrows.

    Of course, signposts are sometimes difficult to spot and can become obscured by vegetation so the route described here gives you turn-by-turn reassurance. Some local knowledge is added to tell you where to find refreshments and places where you can sit and rest.

    The route was test walked in April on a dry day but after recent rain. It was passable throughout with only a couple of muddy patches forcing the walker to the side of the path.

    (Note that substantial sections of the route follow rights of way dedicated as footpaths and, in some places, cycling is expressly prohibited by landowners. This is not currently recommended as a cycling route to the Puttenham Barn Bunkhouse.)
