Thanks John. I'm not sure if the mobile view is different from the interactive view on a mobile, but the zoom buttons are there. They just zoom all the way in or all the way out. If you are using it to navigate, the first thing you want to do is validate what you are seeing on the device with what you see around you. When it was zoomed all the way in I had to cycle until I reached a junction before I could do that. That works, as does the pinch gesture, it's just being able to set the zoom level a little lower so you can see a bit more of the map would make that task easier.

I appreciate it's a difficult balancing act. I was trying to read a map on an iPhone screen in bright sunlight with sunglasses on, so I imagine that for some people setting the default zoom level lower could also cause problems if things get too small on the screen, especially if conditions get challenging.

Thanks for having a look anyway

Thanks for the feedback Gareth.  We'll have a think about hiow we can overcome the zoom issue in the mobile phone with the tracker engaged.  We deliberately didn't add zoom buttons on the mobile view as we wanted to declutter the map as much as possible.  We'd assumed that the pinch/zoom could be used instead, but if this is causing problems when the tracker engaged we'll have a look at this.

When using the interactive view of my route on my iPhone 4 (using Safari), one slight area of difficulty was the scaling of the map. I'm not sure if this is how it is designed, but the zoom in/out buttons only produced either completely zoomed out or completely zoomed in. Completely zoomed out was pretty useless as it was a 70 mile route, and completely zoomed in made it difficult to recognise where you were on the map as sometimes there could be very little context. It was possible to use pinch in/out gestures, but I think they defaulted back to fully zoomed in if you had GPS location on and were moving? Just hoping you could add a little more granularity to the zoom buttons in the mobile view? It seems to work ok on the desktop version.

Still a great app, so keep up the good work

    Gareth
