If you shop or bank online, you've probably noticed a small padlock symbol in your browser's address bar. This indicates that your browser is using a secure connection ("HTTPS") to communicate with the website and that any information you send to the website is encrypted to keep it private. A growing proportion of website usage is now carried out over secure connections and although the information you send to plotaroute.com is not as sensitive as your bank details, we wanted to offer the same level of security to our users too. So, from today you can now access plotaroute.com over a secure HTTPS connection.

Aside from making your use of the site more private and secure, this also means that our embedded maps can now be added to other sites that already use HTTPS connections. At present you can choose to access plotaroute.com using either the standard or the more secure connection, so please bookmark our secure website address if you want to use this, but we hope to switch over permanently to the secure address in the near future.  Please also let us know if you encounter any issues with using the site on the secure address.
