I am following a charity cycle ride and wish to mark the route and places Bob stayed overnight at.  Is there a way to do this

Hi Pete - Yes, the bext way to do this is to add symbols to the map.  To do this, follow these instructions:

    1. Load up the route for editing in the route planner.

    2. Click the DIR'NS icon in action panel in the bottom right corner of the map to show the Directions/Notes panel.

    3. Click the Add/Edit button in the Directions/Notes panel.  This will display a draggable marker on the map.

    4. Drag this to where you want to place the symbol and tick the Show Map Symbol box.  You can choose a different symbol by clicking on the symbol next to the Show Map Symbol tick box.  You'll need to put something in the Notes field as well, otherwise it won't display the symbol.

    5. Click the orange Save button under the tick box.

    Hope that helps.

Thanks.  This is good, but can I pin a specific addresses?  I can't get the marker to stop somewhere specific.  It seems to skip intervals.

The directions/notes and symbols are attached to points along the route, so if there is not a point at the exact place where you want to place the symbol you can add one by using the Drag Mode to manually edit the section of the route in question.  The best way to do this is:

    1. Zoom in to the part of the route you want to edit.

    2. Turn the Auto-Plot switch of OFF.

    3. Turn the Drag Mode switch to ON.

    4. Drag the nearest point to place where you need the add the symbol.

    5. Turn the Drag Mode switch to OFF.

You should then be able to place a symbol and any notes at the exact location you moved the point to.

    Hope that helps.

    John
