Hi Tom,
Thanks for your interest in Premium membership. Unfortunately Paypal's Guest Checkout option, which allows you to pay without needing a Paypal account, is not available 100% of the time. We have queried this with Paypal and apparently it's availability depends on a number of different factors which our out of our control. This is what Paypal has told us:
“The reason the customer is not having that kind of option to pay on their end is they have exceeded this feature of paying as a guest account, you can advise them to call PayPal to fix the issue for them.”
There seems to have been an increase in people reporting this issue lately, so I think Paypal must have recently changed the rules for deciding when the Guest Checkout option is available.
I appreciate that this isn't ideal, so we're looking into alternative payment providers and will try to introduce an alternative payment option as soon as we can. In the meantime, if the Guest Checkout option isn't being offered to you, I'm afraid you would either need to either contact Paypal to request this or sign up for a Paypal account, as we don't have any other payment options at present. We will aim to provide an alternative as soon as we can though.

Trying to go premium; I have no paypal account, don't want one. So I chose that option; entered my creditcard info, trying to proceed to paying, but that does not work, because apparently I have to open an paypal account first. Annoying. How can I change to premium without ending up with a paypal account I don't want?
