Thanks for the suggestions Martyn. I think the green marker is probably placed initially at the half-way point when using the tool to move the start of a circular route - the thinking being that if you want to move the start point of a circular route it is mostly likely to be to somewhere that is not near the current start point.

I turned all of the display options off and the circle with the green dot was still not visible. However, I finally found it way out on another part of the route, no where near the original start. Perhaps this was the case yesterday, I'm not sure.
Anyway, it might be better if the marker's default position was at or close to the original start?
It would be handy to be able to simply click on the route to set an initial position for the marker and then drag to fine tune it. The same could apply when creating new directions. I seem to do a lot of scrolling and searching, currently, to pick up the direction location marker before I ever start dragging it to the place I want it.
Just some thoughts.

Hi Martyn - I think the green marker may be hidden by one of the symbols you added to the map. If you temporarily hide the symbols in the Display Options hopefully you will see it.

I have made a circular route (1358329.) Initially, I had two routes, 'out' and 'back'. I joined these using the 'join two routes' tool. I made a few adjustments and then used the 'shortest route back to start' to make sure the start and end were exactly aligned (i.e., to make it a circular route.) To check that it had worked, I looked to see that I now have only a 'B' marker'.
Finally, I want to change the position of the start/end point. I clicked the tool for doing this and the instruction appears telling me to drag the marker (circle with green dot) to the new start point. However, no marker has appeared. Clicking on the route does not produce one. Dragging the 'B' marker simple seems to separate the start and finish once more.
