    Using the app, on my android phone, I go to the interactive view of a route. I select the navigation icon and nothing happens. My gps is on and other apps correctly show my position. Plotaroute does not show my position. What an I doing wrong?

    Hi Michael.

    Check that you haven't accidentally blocked location permission for plotaroute.com - go to plotaroute.com in Chrome, click the menu icon in the top right, select Settings then Site Settings and Location and check that the Location switch is on and that plotaroute.com is not listed as blocked.

    Hi, I’m having a similar problem using iOS on an iPhone XR but there is no app to give permission to. When trying to navigate I get a ‘location unavailable’ error. Any suggestions? Regards.

    Hi - to check the location permissions for the app on iPhones - go to www.plotaroute.com in Safari, click the AA icon in the address bar, select Website Settings and check that the Location setting is either Ask or Allow.

    Thanks for the reply, These settings are all set to 'allow' and i've checked them in the settings app for the iPhone but still no GPS location available. This also happens when i try to plot a new route and choose 'show a local map' the phone just sits there on the world map. Hope this makes sense?!

    Can you check the location permissions for Safari under your iPhone Settings?

    Privacy, Location Services, Safari - check that Location Access is enabled and that Precise Location is turned on.

    Ahh! The problem seems to occur when 'Privacy, Location Services, Safari' is set to 'Ask Next Time'. When set to 'While Using the App' i get a location fix and everything works fine!

    I think it might be something to do with the splash screen asking me if i want to allow location access, i saw it briefly on the safari page but not at all when launching through the saved bookmark.
