None of the routes in question have a background map. I've not got the Hills panel open. However, I have discovered that:
The problem seems to show itself when running Plotaroute in Edge but not in Chrome. Clearing the cache in Edge helps for a while but the whole thing soon starts to slow up again. The dealys are a) significant, i.e., 20s or more just waiting to get control back, and b) frequent, i.e., most times a pane is closed. In contrast, Chrome just hums along like it always has done.

Hi Martyn - the website isn't interacting with our server when doing those tasks you mention, so I think it must be something browser or PC related. I'd recommend clearing your browser cache in case this is full and causing problems. Also, do you have a lot of routes that you've added to the background map? This could possibly slow things down, so try removing these if you have (select CLEAR to do this). And closing the Hills panel may help, if you have the hill profile displayed.

I've been working intesively on a new route over the past few days and have noticed repeated and uncharachteristic pauses.
Simple things, like selecting an icon or direction arrow, result in a wait of approximately 20 seconds as the system implements the change and returns to the direction pane. Even if no change is made, it can still take 20 seconds just to cancel out of the icon selection pane.
When a route is saved, it can take 20 seconds for the save to take place and then a further 20 seconds with the blue circle rotating on returning to the map.
During the pauses, the web browser is reporting that the Plotaroute site is not responding.
As a test, I've tried making another web enquiry while Plotaroute is paused and the response has been instant so I'm inclined to think that it is not a slow internet connection.
I've not experienced such pauses previopusly in all the time I have used Plotaroute.
