The devs confirmed an issue with the staticmap service and have just fixed it.
The maps on the link you sent below are displayed properly again.

Recently I noticed the embedded map(s) do not show the default staticmap image.
The embedded map works when the user clicks the play button, but before I would have an image showing the overview of the route. See link.
