    Hello Admins.

    Can you provide list of supported "Garmin coursepoints" (0 to 25 - list is just below) by plotaroute ?

    Thanks

    Patrick

    Hi admins,

    Three years on and I now see more matching symbol types between Plotaroute and Garmin Connect:

    • Information <-> Info
    • Toilets/Restroom <-> Toilet
    • Meeting Point <-> Meeting Spot
    • Viewpoint <-> Overview
    • Campsite <-> Campsite
    • Checkpoint <-> Checkpoint
    • Shop <-> Store
    • Information <-> Info
    • Marker <-> Distance Marker
    • Picnic site <-> Rest Area

    Is it possible to convert these symbols as well when syncing routes to Garmin Connect courses ?

    Thanks in advance!

    Winfried

    Great job of yours but I wish you have all ANTSDK course_points available.

    Great job of yours but I wish you have all ANTSDK course_points available.

    Also, my suggestion is Plotaroute to set which points would be a simple waypoint( when exporting as gpx and what would be a course_point(when exporting as .tcx or .fit) and not mix "Turn Arrow" and "Symbol" because if you use both the result is unpredictable.

    That´s mainly because some devices like Fenix 5x only accepts 50 course_points. (to all: keep in mind that if you choose to set an advanced warning in a given distance that will double your actual number of cours_points in the file) so in my case I could only have 25.

    Type Garmin Plotaroute Symbol/Arrow
    generic 0 none none
    summit 1 Mountain none
    valley 2
    water 3 Drinking Water none
    food 4 Food none
    danger 5 Warning none
    left 6 none Left
    right 7 none Right
    straight 8 None Straight on
    first_aid 9 first_aid none
    fourth_category 10
    third_category 11
    second_category 12
    first_category 13
    hors_category 14
    sprint 15 Runners none
    left_fork 16
    right_fork 17
    middle_fork 18
    slight_left 19 none Bear left
    sharp_left 20 none sharp_left
    slight_right 21 none Bear right
    sharp_right 22 none Sharp right
    u_turn 23 none Turn back
    segment_start 24
    segment_end 25

    Thanks John - such demonstrates also the useful suggestion by Rob Williams @ Tuesday 27 Aug 2019 13:37:41

    Thanks Willy - we'll look into this.

    Add a Waypoint precisely located on top of existing trackpoint by the Flag Icon.

    @ tcx course export I expect the PointType "Generic".

    But Plotaroute generates PointType "Straight".

    (For manual adding a "Straight" = use turn Arrow Up).

    Thanks Rob, it might be something we can add in a future update.  My only concern is that flagging certain symbols in this way might cause confusion, as not everybody creates routes to download to TCX or FIT files.

    A belated "works well, thanks!"

    Can I flag again that it would be helpful if it was obvious from the symbol-picker popup which plotaroute symbols mapped to a valid coursepoint type? Either a different border, or an asterisk, or some kind of filter?

    I know that's a very niche request, but so was this entire thread, so thought I'd chance my arm :)

    Tested this and it's working great. Thanks a lot.
