    Despite always clicking "remember me"

The site never remembers I'm logged in, and it's really annoying.

    Particularly on my phone.

I'm using up to date Chrome.

Hi Matthew - the "Keep Me Signed In" feature depends on data stored in a Cookie on your device, so could be affected if you have cookies disabled or if you have software or a browser extension running that is removing them (perhaps privacy or security software). It could also be caused by a  shortage of storage space – I would recommend clearing your browser cache to see if this helps.

    Adding ....

This has been a long time mild annoyance in using Plotaroute. I use it on 2 PCs and 1 mobile, and often (feels like always) I have to re-enter my password despite selecting “remember me”.

I can’t find a logic to it; I have no issue with storage space, and don’t actively clear cookies on exiting my browser. My PC Chrome settings has “Block third-party cookies” set, but shows the active cookies for plotaroute.

It seems to be time related, in that if I close down the PC and restart, I’m still logged in to PR. I had a suspicion that it was linked to logging I from different devices (PC, then my mobile a few days later, then back to my PC), but I haven’t been able to pin this down.

Frustrating more than annoyance, to be honest.

I wish we had a definite answer to this, but we haven't found it yet! It does seem to be that something outside of plotaroute is removing the cookie for some reason.  Here are some things to try though for anyone experiencing this issue:

    1. Check your browser settings to ensure that it isn’t set to remove cookies when you close your browser (in Chrome this is under the Privacy and security settings).

    2. Add *.plotaroute.com as a site that can always use cookies in your browser settings.

    3. Clear your browser cache, in case lack of storage space is an issue.

    4. Temporarily disable any browser extensions you have installed, in case any of these are deleting cookies.

    5. Keep your browser tab open, rather than close it when you have finished.

OK, thanks for your honest reply.

On my PCs, I have tried just one for the moment, but in Chrome, the format needs to be [*.]plotaroute.com

On my mobile, I cleared cache and also applied the exception [*.]plotaroute.com

I'll let you know if this resolves things!!

    Mark

ps, for a while, I thought it might be as I was logging in on different devices, sequentially .... but still couldn't pin it down exactly.

    Thanks Mark. That's very helpful.

So far, so good! I've now set up my work PC with the eexcption (it did ask me again to log in, but before I could madethe change). In the meantime, my mobile continues to work as if I've never logged out :)

Nope, back to normal for both PC and mobile. Not sure whether linked to logging in from a different PC, but looks like this is something I'm just going to have to live with.

Enabling biometric login on the mobile would help .....

That's a shame. You might be onto something though with the point about using multiple devices - we'll look into that.

I think we may now have found the cause of this problem. It was indeed was connected with accessing Plotaroute from multiple devices. We've implemented some changes which should hopefully have fixed it, so please let us know if these have helped. Sorry it has taken so long for us to work what was causing the issue.
