This is a lovely short hilly route of the best lanes for both condition and scenery.
If I only had 1 route on my Garmin then it would have to be this one, considering a circular route from home that is.

I have deliberately avoided the badly pot holed roads whilst also taking in the steepest hill in the area ( chapel lane, which in turn sets us up for the lovely route home via Eaton, Bunbary, Beaston, Burwardsley hill ( Pheasent In ) and home. Absolute cracking route. You really Can’t make this short loop any better to be fair, if you want good roads and views.
It is therefore my favourite short hilly route. This route is usually dry during heavy wet winters, not experienced any flooded bits on this route, although the gorgeous section from Eaton to Bunbary can get a bit messy from tractors. And the lane from Bunbary to Beaston can get very mucky in bad weather, but you can go around that via Spurstow.
Almost 2000ft of total assent and split into 2 areas, most of climbing is around the sandstone ridge ( chapel lane, then down and up again to Eaton) The other bit is at the end and the hill up to Pheasent in and makes a good sprint finish for that final bit of intense effort.

About the Calorie Calculator

Our Calorie Calculator estimates how many Calories you will burn using Metabolic Equivalent (MET) values from Compendium of Physical Activities. The Compendium idenitifes the relative energy cost of undertaking various activities compared with doing nothing. We then combine this with your weight and the estimated duration of the activity, taking into account the length of the route and the hills involved, to estimate the total Calories burned.

When selecting an Activity setting, select the speed you would normally travel at on flat ground.

Please remember, the estimated number of Calories is just a guide and the actual number of Calories burned may vary depending on other factors such as weather and terrain.
