2021 St Edwins Chapel To King John's Palace
Take hanger hill to site of st Edwin s chapel, through pleasant woods on outskirts of Sherwood forest, along this route you come across a stone built Gatehouse with archway through, (design copied from worksop priory Gatehouse) ancient flood defence system long since abandoned remains visible as you cross the small stream. Continuing on to clipstone you arrive at the dog and duck pub (currentvstatud unknown, has been good food in the past if you are lucky you can drop in but booking usually required. A short walk into village takes you to site of king John's palace. walk further past the palace to a track cut through brings you back to the dog n duck via vicar waters
