This is a lovely scenic flat- ish route for Fiona of 40 miles 550 mtrs, no actual climbs. Via Alison’s of course.
This route can easily be added to and even shortened in numerous ways ( you could go over Aldford bridge straight to Holt & add little loop from there going south & back up)
This route is aimed at getting around the most scenic bits to be fair & I would probably consider this a favourite for the area and all on good quiet lanes in good condition. The only iffy one ( in winter ) is Holywell lane to Clutton. It get s flooded and very muddy, but the condition of the lane is pretty good to be fair. Simple to by- pass by going right after crossing the A41 and then left around to Barton.

About the Calorie Calculator

Our Calorie Calculator estimates how many Calories you will burn using Metabolic Equivalent (MET) values from Compendium of Physical Activities. The Compendium idenitifes the relative energy cost of undertaking various activities compared with doing nothing. We then combine this with your weight and the estimated duration of the activity, taking into account the length of the route and the hills involved, to estimate the total Calories burned.

When selecting an Activity setting, select the speed you would normally travel at on flat ground.

Please remember, the estimated number of Calories is just a guide and the actual number of Calories burned may vary depending on other factors such as weather and terrain.
