Youlgreave Via Lathkill Dale 7.5 Mile Circular
After parking in the car park to the west of Youlgreave, the route climbs on pavement until joining the Limestone Way when it turns up a steep field to re-cross the road before continuing on the opposite side, where it climbs away steeply to the top limestone ridge.
Levelling out on top the route enters a long straight section, gradually decsending across easy walking open fields and woodland towards the top of Lathkill Dale.
At the top of Lathkill Dale a long steep series of steps (Jacob's ladder) descend steeply into the Dale. The route along Lathkill Dale is picturesque although quite difficult under foot whith shale in some parts.
Towards the bottom of the Dale, the route passes along a short section of road, across a bridge and then takes a parallel route to the river towards Aloprt Village.
From Alport village the route follows the river Bradfordbefore climbing up into Youlgreave village. A short walk through the village to return to the car.
