12mile route (according to Garmin/Stava). Perfect day for walking (in T shirts). 18C but breezy with a cooler wind on the tops. Lots of sun with occasional clouds. Quiet (3 groups in total going the same direction) until the afternoon (several groups going the opposite way). Averaged 2mph overall and just under 3mph on the flat. Mixed terrain with stony paths in places (particularly coming back into Boot). Steep descent off the scree top along indistinct path (hard on the knees!). Relatively dry under foot although areas of peat bog which would be more difficult in wet conditions.

4hr 10mins overall duration, 3hrs 40mins (approx) exc stops (2). Time includes deviations to route (Stone Circles and Miterdale forest). Route often indistinct and occasionally alternative footpaths were more distinct than OS marked bridleways but all marked on Route Plotter. Got confused by forestry commission roads in Miterdale forest.
