Use GPS to navigate to start of route on Crimson Laurel Way (NC-226). Starting at Bakersville NC we are heading south towards Micaville NC. We are heading towards Chimney Rock NC ($15 to get in) We go on some great twisty roads with lots of switch backs ride carefully! Once we leave Chimney Rock we are heading back north to BRP. We take a jaunt on hiway 40 for a short 13KM then onto US-70 then smaller roads that will be more switchbacks and twists and turns. We eventually turn onto the BRP from Curtis Creek Rd. NOTE: the plotting tool wouldn’t take me through some of the tunnels on the BRP, that’s why it stops in the middle of the parkway. Route 10 continues on through the BRP.

Find out how we calculate Calories

About the Calorie Calculator

Our Calorie Calculator estimates how many Calories you will burn using Metabolic Equivalent (MET) values from Compendium of Physical Activities. The Compendium idenitifes the relative energy cost of undertaking various activities compared with doing nothing. We then combine this with your weight and the estimated duration of the activity, taking into account the length of the route and the hills involved, to estimate the total Calories burned.

When selecting an Activity setting, select the speed you would normally travel at on flat ground.

Please remember, the estimated number of Calories is just a guide and the actual number of Calories burned may vary depending on other factors such as weather and terrain.
