Starting from the car park at Castleshaw the route goes along the service road to Castleshaw Upper Reservoir, turning South West follow the road and then track as it traverses the hillside up to Broad Lane. Take the path to Spring Hill Farm, then descending to Tame Lane and across the fields to Friarmere Cricket Club. Cross the two roads and down the drive towards Slackcote Mill, turning left into the courtyard of the cottages and following the path down to the rive. Follow the path towards Delph until you reach the mill buildings, go through teh yard and up the drive then turn right to follow the track into park and past the allotments to the bridge in Delph.

Turn left towards the White Lion pub, turn left after passing the pub to follow the track alongside the fishing lake and continue past the mill pond up the valley to Castleshaw Lower reservoir., then follow the service road back to the car park.
