Short dash for North westerlies. In fact anything from full Westerly to almost full north.
On great scenic lanes
Not brill after really heavy wet weather, due to the return leg behind Peckforton ridge, that lane can flood, but not as bad as it did. Great protection from Westerly to North winds though, even the Harthill bit. However the really bad bit after bad weather is the loop behind Bunbary, as it gets very gravelly & mucky, with pot holes.
SImply miss this loop and head direct through Bunbary and out the conventional Moss lane way, avoiding Spurstow as well, although either way can be mucky & wet. This then means you ride the whole of Peckforton road for the same total distance.
This route is absolutely perfect for westerly & NW.

About the Calorie Calculator

Our Calorie Calculator estimates how many Calories you will burn using Metabolic Equivalent (MET) values from Compendium of Physical Activities. The Compendium idenitifes the relative energy cost of undertaking various activities compared with doing nothing. We then combine this with your weight and the estimated duration of the activity, taking into account the length of the route and the hills involved, to estimate the total Calories burned.

When selecting an Activity setting, select the speed you would normally travel at on flat ground.

Please remember, the estimated number of Calories is just a guide and the actual number of Calories burned may vary depending on other factors such as weather and terrain.
