london road alternative is 1km shorter and although a bit tedious is paved whole way
(?force green lane for either is unpaved and narrow but does have verges mostly and is perhaps quiet too doesnt' look like direct route or useful shortcut to anywhere - alt footpath route entering london rd to east has minor good pt of tarmac path bside L rd
path across fields appears to be unofficially permissive not on OS or KCC maps, looks promising on streetview and aerial tho,
if it isn't open would have to walk along beggars lane which looks unpleasant, not paved curved but two lanes so each way traffic and fast
- is an A road. little or no verge in places
official path on kcc site goes straight across football pitch markings so divn round top of field maybe better.
1km shorter might be important not just for direct and tiredness but also for public transport connections,ie if buses from westerham are infrequent or stop early or don't run at wkends
