1. Stay with the Pace

The key to success is holding the promised pace, especially during the first half (first 10 miles).
It may feel easy early on—resist the urge to speed up. Trust the pacers to guide the effort.
If you get ahead, you may need to slow down later. That’s normal—you can always rejoin the group.

2. If You Fall Behind

Don’t panic. Stop at the next fluid station and wait for the following pace group.
This way, you’ll still be supported and won’t risk running alone.

3. Group Etiquette

We stop at red lights and pause watches until it’s safe to continue.
If a large group takes a bathroom break, the pacers may hold the group for them.
A common stop point is at mile 12.3, at the Refinery Building A/C bathrooms in Domino Park, Brooklyn.

4. Team Spirit

Communicate with pacers and fellow runners—let someone know if you’re dropping back or need support.
The strength of this run is in the group. Support each other and enjoy the miles together.
