Please note at Matley Lane (1.5 mile point) there isn't a footpath all the way along the road, might be best to cut along Blundering Lane, after that the walk is superb. Plenty of hills, gorgeous scenery and a few reservoirs before you come out at Brushes, Stalybridge.
Around Rabbit Lane, there's an old manor house (walled off but you can still get the gist of it) and for a few minutes you could be living 100 years ago.
Swallows Wood is beautiful too, will be doing it again in Autumn/Winter.
