The layby just past the Bull Pub (heading towards Farnham) is a popular parking area. And there is also some parking at the junction just before the Bull Pub, which is also used.
There is a gap in the dual carriage way just along from these that allow you to cross over to the Alton bound carriage way to get to the start (just about 1/4mile up the road).
If warming up along the A31 just be aware the opportunities to cross the carriageway are limited especially once past Bentley and heading out to Alton.
The results sheet gathering is at the junction by the Bull Pub.
