There are also simple options on shortcuts as well, The cafe is 25 miles, but it is dead easy to cut across from Gaunts End and make the cafe 21 miles.
There are also good options on- route regarding the lunch stop.
Just 3 miles after the cafe in Wrenbury, is the stunning Cholmondley Arms ( on the junction of the A49 crossing) And just 1.5 miles after that is the quaint farm shop cafe in Cholmondley business park.
This route is not adviseable after heavy rain, as some of the lanes can get very mucky and flood in places, although all the lanes are in good condition and a very interesting meander.
