Wild Atlantic Way, 12 Day Route.

This route starts from the most northern point of Ireland (Malin Hd.) to its most southern point (Mezin Hd.), via mostly western coastal roads and towns.

I have created this route, with respect to the 12 day time slot and keeping the distance per day doable for most. With enough time each day to enjoy the Western sites, towns and attractions in the area it will prove to be a real fun filled adventure. This could easily be used as a 2 week active vacation for anyone with time to spare!

On this route you will wive round the coast, up mountains and across cliffs, if camping is your fancy there are 3 national parks dotted evenly throughout the route with the final park allowing you to cycle right through it! Finishing off in Clonakilty, seeped in national history and puddings for the breakfast fry up you've been thinking for the last 200km!

About the Calorie Calculator

Our Calorie Calculator estimates how many Calories you will burn using Metabolic Equivalent (MET) values from Compendium of Physical Activities. The Compendium idenitifes the relative energy cost of undertaking various activities compared with doing nothing. We then combine this with your weight and the estimated duration of the activity, taking into account the length of the route and the hills involved, to estimate the total Calories burned.

When selecting an Activity setting, select the speed you would normally travel at on flat ground.

Please remember, the estimated number of Calories is just a guide and the actual number of Calories burned may vary depending on other factors such as weather and terrain.
