The Northern Fells Running Club present the inaugural Binsey Bash on Wednesday 5th September.

NFRC are hosting a charity social running event open to all runners.
Runners are asked to donate £3 to support the local charity Amy's Care who specialise in providing day care through social clubs for older adults and in particular for those living with dementia. https://www.amys-care.co.uk/

Binsey is a steep climb from all directions and offers plenty to keep runners of all abilities interested.
The route is a looping trail over and around Binsey and is approximately 7.5K with 360M of climb. The route is mostly unmarked and you can choose your best line, although there are plenty of paths to follow.

Checkpoints and parking can be found on the map above and there is plenty of parking down the verges of the two main roads.

Seniors run (14+) starts at 7:00pm
(sorry, no Junior event this year but maybe next year if there is a demand)

This is a social running event only and although the Club isn't giving out prizes you will be timed and results posted.
There will be some small refreshments at the end.

Please come and have a great mid-week run whilst supporting this worthwhile charity.

• This is a Fell event, there are no kit requirements but be sensible and bring appropriate shoes and kit for the conditions.
• The Route Map shows checkpoints and direction of travel but not the best route. There are minimal route markings so get to the checkpoints the best way you can – find your own line! If you want to put in a fast run a recce is recommended.
• Please park on the verges of the main roads and car share where possible.
• No running with dogs due to livestock restrictions

About the Calorie Calculator

Our Calorie Calculator estimates how many Calories you will burn using Metabolic Equivalent (MET) values from Compendium of Physical Activities. The Compendium idenitifes the relative energy cost of undertaking various activities compared with doing nothing. We then combine this with your weight and the estimated duration of the activity, taking into account the length of the route and the hills involved, to estimate the total Calories burned.

When selecting an Activity setting, select the speed you would normally travel at on flat ground.

Please remember, the estimated number of Calories is just a guide and the actual number of Calories burned may vary depending on other factors such as weather and terrain.
