Starting at Sutton hall. We’ll take a long steady 3% climb through Macclesfield Forest, in to The Peak District and over to The Cat & Fiddle, the second highest pub in England. We then drop down in to Flash, that at 1,518 ft, claims to be the highest village in Britain. We then descend down on to the Cheshire Plains, passing through several villages on our way to Jodrell Bank Observatory. I’m hoping to have our Café stop here. Then on to the infamous Alderley Edge, home to footballers, Wags and wizards! Then back to Sutton Hall via Gawsworth Hall.

The route is 60 miles with just over 5000 feet of elevation, so, like a ‘B’ ride. There are no monster climbs and the ride up to the Cat & Fiddle takes a steady alternative route avoiding the A53.

About the Calorie Calculator

Our Calorie Calculator estimates how many Calories you will burn using Metabolic Equivalent (MET) values from Compendium of Physical Activities. The Compendium idenitifes the relative energy cost of undertaking various activities compared with doing nothing. We then combine this with your weight and the estimated duration of the activity, taking into account the length of the route and the hills involved, to estimate the total Calories burned.

When selecting an Activity setting, select the speed you would normally travel at on flat ground.

Please remember, the estimated number of Calories is just a guide and the actual number of Calories burned may vary depending on other factors such as weather and terrain.
