One of my favourite routes.
This one is really aimed at the best scenery and sites in the area. Some lovely village hamlets, and good lanes and a lovely fast 2 mile stretch down hill between kidnal and Tilston
Can’t think of a better alround route than this one and in the grand scheme, flat, there are a few small hills, but nothing serious at all( only 450 mtrs total assent.
This passes through grassy green and Beaston (awesome) then through Bunbary, past Tillies cafe and on south via Brindley and Chorley, then Cholmondsley ( can stop in the pub on the junction here, if needed). Nice finish through Tilston and up through Carden Park, which is fab and then home.
This would make an ideal anti-clockwise route, if a cafe stop is required, because Tillies in Bunbary would be 20 miles.
Rode this course but not loaded to Garmin( in my history of course)
Another reason for loving this route is that it can easily be shortened in several different ways. In fact cutting up through Bickerton and hart hill is really cracking and adds some more hills. 4 miles shorter, but almost the same total assent.
You can also add miles by going straight on at Tilston ( not right to CP) Thenturn left to Crew and Farndon. Then carry on up to Aldford, Saighton and around to Tattenhall, which would add 5 to 10 miles depending on route, could stop in Farndon for cafe, if extending route a fair few miles.
Stiff SE winds really require an anti-clockwise route as there is plenty of cover down the West side of the loop , through CP, Tilston and from there all the way around to Bunbary it’s pretty much A side tailwind.

About the Calorie Calculator

Our Calorie Calculator estimates how many Calories you will burn using Metabolic Equivalent (MET) values from Compendium of Physical Activities. The Compendium idenitifes the relative energy cost of undertaking various activities compared with doing nothing. We then combine this with your weight and the estimated duration of the activity, taking into account the length of the route and the hills involved, to estimate the total Calories burned.

When selecting an Activity setting, select the speed you would normally travel at on flat ground.

Please remember, the estimated number of Calories is just a guide and the actual number of Calories burned may vary depending on other factors such as weather and terrain.
