Our Calorie Calculator estimates how many Calories you will burn using Metabolic Equivalent (MET) values from Compendium of Physical Activities. The Compendium idenitifes the relative energy cost of undertaking various activities compared with doing nothing. We then combine this with your weight and the estimated duration of the activity, taking into account the length of the route and the hills involved, to estimate the total Calories burned.

Look out for incredible views across the Cheshire plain to the Snowdon range on a clear day, and wide open views over and beyond Manchester from Werneth Low.
The route also takes in both Marple Viaduct and Aquaduct on the way to the Peak Forest Canal and back towards Hyde, where it picks up the Godley section of the Trans Pennine Trail. A detour after Marple Viaduct will allow you to visit Chadkirk Chapel. A further detour to take in the full Godley section along the old railway line (now a bridle way) will bring you to Godley turntable.(remains of)
