At end of Sand Street go through gate and down to the shore. Turn right and follow the thin path through the grassy area above the coastline. It can be muddy or wet and there are some big pools of water beside the path, be aware if going on to shoreline where sand starts - it is a tidal area with possible quick sand further out - best to keep dogs on lead. When you reach the end of the path at the river it is best to turn and walk back the same way.
Track type: worn path over grass area. Only suitable for those more able as not easiest terrain.
Hazards: Possible sinking sand in areas, best not to walk on sand. The sand is a tidal area. The path can be muddy and wet in winter.
Highlights: Wildlife, coastal plants, views across Broadbay.
Facilities: Parking at end of Sand Street. No facilities or seating.

About the Calorie Calculator

Our Calorie Calculator estimates how many Calories you will burn using Metabolic Equivalent (MET) values from Compendium of Physical Activities. The Compendium idenitifes the relative energy cost of undertaking various activities compared with doing nothing. We then combine this with your weight and the estimated duration of the activity, taking into account the length of the route and the hills involved, to estimate the total Calories burned.

When selecting an Activity setting, select the speed you would normally travel at on flat ground.

Please remember, the estimated number of Calories is just a guide and the actual number of Calories burned may vary depending on other factors such as weather and terrain.
