Start Point: union Depot Lot C, Saint Paul, MN
Difficulty: 3/5
Distance: 8.2 Miles

*START: The Union depot 2 dollar lot is the start point of this route. It is the last lot before you cross the bridge over the interstate. If you are paying more than 2 dollars to park you are in the wrong lot!

**DIFFICULTY: This route minimizes the amount of hills, however hills are unavoidable in Saint Paul. For those skaters who skated in Saint Paul last year, this route is slightly longer but will avoid the problematic hills. Skaters in attendance must be comfortable going up and down hills at a moderate pace. Helmets and wrist guards are strongly encouraged.
The roads in Saint Paul are rougher than Minneapolis roads. There is cobblestone on many streets as well as cracks. Skaters in attendance must be comfortable going over and around rough areas using a combination of streets and side walks. Skaters should also be comfortable stepping on and off of the curb while rolling, as to best avoid the rougher areas.

About the Calorie Calculator

Our Calorie Calculator estimates how many Calories you will burn using Metabolic Equivalent (MET) values from Compendium of Physical Activities. The Compendium idenitifes the relative energy cost of undertaking various activities compared with doing nothing. We then combine this with your weight and the estimated duration of the activity, taking into account the length of the route and the hills involved, to estimate the total Calories burned.

When selecting an Activity setting, select the speed you would normally travel at on flat ground.

Please remember, the estimated number of Calories is just a guide and the actual number of Calories burned may vary depending on other factors such as weather and terrain.
