Prinknash - Buckholt Circuit

UPDATE February 2023: The path down from the Cotswold Way to the road entrance to Prinknash Abbey is hard to recognise at the moment because of work felling trees to deal with Ash Dieback. Even with the GPX plot. (It's a permissive path so perhaps that's why it isn't kept clear). It's probably less tricky to follow in the other direction, i.e. mostly uphill.

The route is as remembered from walking it in the summer of 2021.

The footpath heading south from Sanatorium Road was overgrown and seemingly neglected, I do not know its current condition. Its use could be avoided by simply following the lane down to the Painswick Stream from near Cranham Corner, rather than doing the mostly off-road dog-leg,
The stretch by Painswick Stream was nice, on a fine summer's day.

About the Calorie Calculator

Our Calorie Calculator estimates how many Calories you will burn using Metabolic Equivalent (MET) values from Compendium of Physical Activities. The Compendium idenitifes the relative energy cost of undertaking various activities compared with doing nothing. We then combine this with your weight and the estimated duration of the activity, taking into account the length of the route and the hills involved, to estimate the total Calories burned.

When selecting an Activity setting, select the speed you would normally travel at on flat ground.

Please remember, the estimated number of Calories is just a guide and the actual number of Calories burned may vary depending on other factors such as weather and terrain.
