Kaapse Bossen
Highlights Kaapse Bossen is one of the best hiking trails in the Utrechtse Heuvelrug.
Highlights Kaapse Bossen is a dark blue marked trail by Natuurmonumenten through the nature reserves between Doorn and Leersum. The route runs through the Kaapse Bossen, the Doornse Gat and over the Ruiterberg, which are all part of the Utrechtse Heuvelrug National Park. The Doornse Gat is a special sand dune in the middle of the woods, a popular playground among local children. There are various activities and sights in the woods. De Ruiterberg is an old country estate with a large hill. Lookout tower De Kaap is located in the Kaapse Bossen, which reaches unique heights for unprecedented views. The last literal and figurative highlight is the Helena Hill, an old tea house with a beautiful terrace from which you look out over the moors.
