2023-11-23 T'ales From The Riverbank & Red Lion
An initial loop past the Adur car racing circuit, then onto Riverbank with its eclectic houseboats, before joining the shingle boardwalk on Shoreham Beach.
Mid-morning break at Shoreham fort near the WW1 Memorial Trench (loos).
Then along the quayside, Ferry Bridge, Downs Link LDP to the Red Lion PH (lunch), old toll bridge, then riverbank alongside and into Shoreham Airport back to the start.
Morning 5 miles before lunch at the Red Lion, Old Shoreham. Just 2 miles after lunch back to the start, with a short side spur to admire the Art Deco airport terminal building.
All flat, but some shingle walking on the boardwalk to bypass people coming the other way perhaps, and at a moderately brisk pace, with a fresh sea breeze most of the time.
