This was the route we felt was doable at the very slow pace of the Reds in the time given and within our capabilities.
This route was walked by Mel, Stephen, Gill and Richard (protest liaison) on Saturday 17th February.
We preferred the procession to walk 2 sides of Queen Square. We thought that the previous route to Royal Crescent was too long.
We preferred the procession to walk around the Guildhall in the flow of traffic to Orange Grove and enter Abbey Churchyard from Kingston Parade which is far less congested.
We noted the many number of tourists at the front of the Abbey, but even with the queues for the Roman Baths and Abbey entrance there's enough room for the coffin to be laid in front of the main Abbey doors.
Reds will need a rest at the Abbey.
We discussed the alternatives of dispersing into groups to get back to the Percy Centre or processing as one, but this needs further thinking.

About the Calorie Calculator

Our Calorie Calculator estimates how many Calories you will burn using Metabolic Equivalent (MET) values from Compendium of Physical Activities. The Compendium idenitifes the relative energy cost of undertaking various activities compared with doing nothing. We then combine this with your weight and the estimated duration of the activity, taking into account the length of the route and the hills involved, to estimate the total Calories burned.

When selecting an Activity setting, select the speed you would normally travel at on flat ground.

Please remember, the estimated number of Calories is just a guide and the actual number of Calories burned may vary depending on other factors such as weather and terrain.
