Our Calorie Calculator estimates how many Calories you will burn using Metabolic Equivalent (MET) values from Compendium of Physical Activities. The Compendium idenitifes the relative energy cost of undertaking various activities compared with doing nothing. We then combine this with your weight and the estimated duration of the activity, taking into account the length of the route and the hills involved, to estimate the total Calories burned.
When selecting an Activity setting, select the speed you would normally travel at on flat ground.
Please remember, the estimated number of Calories is just a guide and the actual number of Calories burned may vary depending on other factors such as weather and terrain.

Start and end at Ash Grove Cabins.
Rode on a weekday, virtually no traffic on all roads except for 178, and that wasn't bad.
Short ride, but some super steep climbing on F Van Clayton, and somewhat steep in spots on E Fork on way back.
On way out EFork road has some fun down hills, and it twists and turns. It's a nice road, harder on the way back, though. 178 also has a fun downhill.
But FVC road goes up! It has stairs, and about the 5th stair, you're staring at a wall in front of you. It's 21% for about 100m, with a bit of a rest for about 50m, then back up to 21% for another 100m. And after that it's up and down with 4 or 5 more stairs, the last of which is 21%, but only about 35m.
Glady Fork had a few fun downhills, too.
34/26 wasn't adequate. Needed a 30 on the back or stronger legs.
