2018 Baton Rouge NephCure 5K Fun Run/Walk
Lt. Governor Billy Nungesser is Honorary Chairman of this event.
This is a beautiful route around Capitol Lake and through the Capitol grounds on sidewalks and paths, except when crossing streets. We must abide by all traffic laws.
Immediately following the 5K Fun Run/Walk at the A. Z. Young Park we are having a Fall Fest with a band, games for the children, and lots of food, including Louisiana seafood, compliments of the Louisiana Seafood Promotion and Marketing Board. There will be hotdogs, hamburgers, chicken and sausage jambalaya, shrimp jambalaya, boiled shrimp and corn on the cob, and seafood gumbo (to go). We are pre-selling jambalaya an seafood gumbo (to go)!
And the best part of all of this is, it's for a great cause. The NephCure Walk is held around the country and organized by dedicated local volunteers from your community that help raise funds for local patients and families.
NKI is the only organization committed exclusively to supporting research seeking the cause of the potentially debilitating kidney disease Focal Segmental Glomerulosclerosis (FSGS) and Nephrotic Syndrome, improve treatment and find a cure. Your support helps advance research aimed at improving treatments for patients suffering from these conditions.
