    Hi Greg,

Good to hear that you like the site - thanks for the kind feedback.

Since this topic was last updated, we've added the ability to search using coordinates in the route planner, so it's now possible to locate the map using lat/lng coordinates. If you want coordinates to show in the Directions though, you'd have to type them in manually at present I'm afraid. It's helpful to know that some people would find coordinates in the directions useful though, so thanks for that feedback - we can bear this in mind if there is an opportunity to include this in future updates.

G'Day John, really impressed with the route mapping tools provided by PlotARoute, they greatly improve the quality and speed of route planning. I see that you have plans to include a search by lat/long which is exciting.   My request is for coordinates to be included on the directions/notes page.  I am a Bushwalking leadership trainer and would be pleased to have to ability to add grid references, especially UTM coordinates, to the directions/notes page. We encourage our trainees to use map and compass for most of their navigation so being able to plot poiints on a paper map and set bearings etc is important - especially when undertaking off-track routes.

Indeed it would be great to be able to customise the fields available on the directions/notes page to effectively build your own table.  This way bushwalking leaders would be able to build a directions/notes page that looks like a route card typically produced when route planning.

Thanks again for your work with this tool, it really hits the brief for those chosing to travel au ped.

    That’s great news

Unfortunately not in time for my plotting of the TCRNO7 from Bulgaria to France, but will be great for the future

    cheers

Thanks Simon, that's kind of you to say that plotaroute is the best route planner. The inability to search for lat/lng cooordinates when plotting a route is actually something we're planning to address in the next upgrade. We've got a number of changes we're making in response to feedback from our recent user survey and this is one of them. This upgrade should hopefully go live by the end of July.

By far the best route plotter. Been trying to use Komoot, RideGPS, Garmin own connect, but the way this application uploads, downloads is so easy and the way you can export to a Google earth file and then hover over the route is just fantastic, but why o why does it not support LAT/Longitude coordinates. I’m been given these as checkpoints for cycling races/competitions but can’t use Plota Route to plan my rides without first putting the coordinates into another application and then exporting them into Plotaroute.

Please please please have this as a new feature, preferably in the next few weeks in time for the Transcontinental race and my final route planning.

    Please.

    cheers

Hi Nick - sorry, if you're referring to the place name search box above the route planner, I'm afraid this doesn't accept grid references at the moment.  I'll add that to our feature request list.

    Hi

Is it not possible to input a grid reference into the search box so i can add it to a route?
