Hi Chris, are you referring to the Make Me a Route feature?  We made a change to this recently to be more strict about paved routes if you select the Paved Only option, so if you try it without this setting you may get more choices.  However, a better way to make sure you get routes in the general direction you want to go is to add a Via point - so, for example, if you want to go South, try adding a Via Point somewhere south of the start that you know you would pass through.  Experimenting with different positions for the Voa point will give you different suggestions.

I am having problems with the suggested routes as they are all N, NE, E and occasionally SE. It never suggests any routes going S, SW, W & NW and these are the directions that I really want to go. It used to work just fine but in the last few weeks has started limiting the choices.
