I need to plot short routes in the city, for work purposes, but the minimum distance of 3 miles is too long...unless I'm missing something about how to eliminate the minimum distance?

Hi George - the Make Me a Route feature isn't really designed for short routes as there doesn't tend to be enough roads and paths to generate a variety of circular routes.  However, you can use the Plot with Waypoints feature to quickly generate routes of a shorter length - this lets you add a small number of waypoints that you can drag around to experiment with different routes.

    Hi John,

Like George, having shorter distances can be very useful to me.

I'm following a Coach To 5K (C25k) program, and the firsts weeks are with small distances (2 ~ 2.5 km).

The shorter I was able to achieve in my city was 2.6km, even tho I ask for the minimum 3 km.

I'm sure PlotARoute software can work with smaller distances in some places, like small suburbs we have here.

Anyway, I understand your point of view, but still, I think it can be useful to many users.

    Thanks! Awesome website !!!

Hi Éric - Thanks for your feedback.  I think you're right in that in some areas, where there are a wide choice of roads and paths, shorter circular route distances would be feasible with the Make Me a Route feature, but obviously in more rural areas short circular routes aren't possible.  Hopefully people would understand this, so I'll reduce the minumum distance a bit when we do our next upgrade to the route planner.
