Download to Garmin NuviFORUMS HOME SEARCH FORUMS

I am trying to download Phil's Welsh Route. I'm using Chrome with the correct drivers but nothing happens once I start the download.

Hi Phil - do you have Garmin Express installed by any chance?  Unfortunately the direct download to Garmin devices is not compatible with computers running Garmin Express.  As an alternative you should be able to downlaod the route as a GPX file and copy it to the GPX folder on your device.   I don't have that model of GPS here to check with but I think after copying the file to your device you need to go to Tools, My Data and select Import Route from File.

Thanks for your reply.  I'm not using Express. I have downloaded the GPX file and put it in the GPX folder but there is not a Tools option on the Nuvi to allow me to perform the Import.

Hi Phil - It could be that your particular Nuvi model doesn't support importing routes.  Which model are you using?

This is the advice from Garmin on importing routes onto Nuvi devices.

I have a Nuvi 50 which is not mentioned in the Garmin help.  I have tried using the instructions for other devices but my Nuvi does not have those features.

Oh well never mind, thanks for your suggestions anyway.
