We don't have a way to specifying that the map type in the link to the route at present, (I'll add that to the feature request list) but there are no copyright issues with sharing the map online, only with printing for distribution.

Thanks John - have done so with printing them, just on the web link when I share the link it automatically reverts to the google maps version - do I need to put a disclaimer on this before sharing the link on my website or is there another way of only sharing the paths version? Thanks.

Hi Emma - Sure, this is fine with us, although as you say redistribution of Google maps from any website is against Google's Terms of Use, so you would need to select our "Paths" map when printing , as the Paths maps are Open Source, so are not subject to the same copyright restrictions.

On the other question...we don't have an option to restrict plotting to footpaths only but it should be possible to distinguish paths from roads on the map.  You can also turn on the Auto-Plot "By Foot" option to help with plotting routes on paths.

I noticed you've emailed us about this as well but hopefully I've answered your questions here - feel free to post back here if not.

Hi - we want to create some walks for our customers at our restaurant that we can print out and give out for them to use (and possibly link to the walk on our website) but just want to check that this is OK to do - know that there is an issue with google with this so that we'd have to print out the 'paths' option on the map but still want to check this is OK.

Also is there an obvious option to map a walk using footpaths instead of roads as I can't seem to find it. Thanks.
