Avoid a marked area in 'make me a route'FORUMS HOME SEARCH FORUMS

Hi Graham - thanks for your suggestion and kind feedback about the site.  

As it happens we're currently working on a change to the Make Me a Route feature.  We're hoping to be able to add an option to specify a Via point, so that you could for example ask for circular routes that go via somewhere where you have arranged to stop for a coffee.  This option should also allow you to effectively 'steer' generated routes in a paticular direction from the start point.  This isn't exactly the same as you're suggesting but I'm wondering if it might have the desired effect.  I'll add your suggestion to our request list anyway, but in the menantime, I'm hoping that we'll be able to introduce the Via point option in the new few weeks.

Hi I've recently heard about the site and it looks really good, especially the make a route feature, the ability to automaticcaly generate a route of a set lenght is brilliant!

I know it's possible to avoid a specfic road currently but it would be even better if it was possible to mark out an entire area to avoid, I live on the outskirts of London and a lot of suggested routes that are generated go into the city which is not a pleasant place to ride, so ideally I'd like to be able to draw an area and not have any routes go into that area.
